UK government announce increases to visa fees

18 September 2023

On 15 September 2023, the Home Office announced that immigration fees will increase for applications on or after 4 October 2023. This is in line with a previous statement made by the government earlier this year.

These increases affect a wide range of immigration routes to the UK, including applications under the Student and Visitor routes. Details of these changes are as follows:

  • Student and Child Student route applications made overseas will increase to £490 per applicant.
  • Fees for the priority service will increase to £500.
  • Fees for the super priority service, both overseas and in-country, will increase to £1,000.
  • Visitor visa (six month, standard) applications will increase to £115.
  • Graduate route applications will increase to £822 per applicant.

Some fees paid by educational institutions are also changing:

  • Certificate of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) for Students and Child Students will increase to £25.

Other visa routes will also have their related fees increased including applications under the Skilled Worker, Global Talent, and Innovator Founder routes.

You can see a full list of the new visa fees on the government’s visa fees transparency data table
