Thoughts on your visa

The visa was sponsored by the company and the cost of booking it, including the health surcharge and appointment date, along with other responsibilities, were solely handled by the immigration team of KPMG LLP under the laws and regulations of UKVI.

Support and development

“I did a lot of volunteering within the firm and all the training on LinkedIn, Plural Sight, and Azure Certifications.”

I received CV feedback while at university. Since graduating, I have done a lot of volunteering and training within the firm, such as on LinkedIn or Plural Sight. My Azure Certifications were all supported and funded by KPMG LLP.

Employer knowledge and attitudes

“Candidates must provide a clear indication of their requirement of a work visa before stepping forward.”

While filling out the application for graduate roles, candidates must provide a clear indication of their requirement of a work visa before stepping forward, as this may assist the firm in visa processing after selection. Most firms are aware of visa terms and conditions post-study.

KPMG LLP and the member firms strongly believe in diversity and inclusion, introducing a large group of people from different backgrounds with a common interest. I found it very open in terms of hiring and onboarding people into the firm.

What advice would you give to current international students seeking graduate employment in the UK?

“Practise well before attending interviews and seek guidance from the career service team.”

I would advise them to apply for roles as soon as they are advertised. Practise well before attending the interviews and seek guidance from the university career service team for CV/cover letter and further tips such as for salary negotiation, contract and visa rules.

Apply for roles that are suitable for your background and know the company and business well before joining.
