UKCISA recently raised concerns with the Home Office about visa application appointment delays in Russia, following a change of visa service provider in the country. These delays have affected Tier 4 applicants and we contacted the Home Office following comments from a number of our members; some of whom, we understand, also raised the concerns with the Home Office directly.
On Friday 13 June we heard from the Home Office and we understand that more appointments will have been made available from Monday 16 June. In an email, a UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Regional Director said:
[...] we’ve been able to open more appointments and customers should be able to book these from Monday. You also provided feedback about the change to a new commercial partner running our visa application centres in Russia. There have been some transitional issues which we are managing closely, and the service should now be much improved [...].
