The WeAreInternational campaign re-launched on 4 July 2017 at a House of Commons reception. The event featured speeches by Sheffield’s Vice-Chancellor, Sir Keith Burnett, local MP Paul Blomfield, Neil Carberry the Director of Skills for the Confederation of British Industry, Prof Rebecca Hughes of the British Council, two leading alumni from Sheffield and UKCISA President Lord Karan Bilimoria. All spoke of the benefits of international students to UK students, to universities, to local communities and to the UK in general and encouraged all to renew their commitment to welcoming international students from all parts of the world.
