Session proposals open for UKCISA Annual conference 2024

We are looking for UKCISA members to present at UKCISA Annual conference 2024. Presenting at our conference is an excellent opportunity to share best practice and discuss ideas with colleagues in a lively forum. The call for proposals opens today and will close on 19 January 2024.  

UKCISA Annual conference brings together UKCISA members, #WeAreInternational Student Ambassadors, practitioners and experts working in international education. The conference will take place at the University of Kent in Canterbury on 25-27 June 2024. 

We are looking for proposals on the following topics:   

  • immigration compliance 
  • student advice  
  • international student employability 
  • international student experience  
  • staff development 
  • staff wellbeing 

Sessions will be in the following format:

  • Interactive workshops (1 hour 15 mins) - Longer, interactive sessions where members can present a project they have been working on or a skill they'd like to share. It might involve a presentation as well as group or pair work with activities to help delegates understand the topic better. Maximum two presenters.  
  • Presentations (45 mins) - Shorter, lecture-style sessions but can still involve delegate participation. Maximum two presenters.  
  • Quick-fire presentations (10 mins) - Quick-fire presentations are perfect to share an idea, case study or a piece of research with delegates and we recommend this for individual presenters. 
  • Roundtable discussions (1 hour 15 mins) - This is an opportunity for you to bring up to 20 colleagues together to discuss a key topic in international education. Maximum two facilitators. 

How to submit a proposal   

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday 19 January 2024. To submit your proposal, please share the:  

  • Title of your session  
  • Details of your session (1,000 characters)  
  • Learning outcomes (300 characters)  

You will also be asked some practical questions about presenting at the conference.
