UKCISA asks students to share their experiences of English language testing

April 30, 2026

The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) is carrying out research into international students’ experiences of meeting English language requirements for UK study.

Are you an international student who has:

  • applied to,
  • is currently studying at,
  • or has recently studied at

a UK university in the past 5 years, and have had to meet an English language requirement as part of your application?

Take the 10-minute survey

Eligible participants will have the option to enter a prize draw for a chance to win a £100 voucher!

There is growing discussion across the sector about international students’ English language ability and preparedness for study. However, students’ own experiences are often missing from that conversation.

UKCISA wants to make sure international students have a voice in shaping how the sector understands English language requirements, student preparedness and the transition into UK higher education.

By completing the survey, you can help UKCISA build a clearer picture of what the process of taking an English language test is really like. Your feedback will help inform future discussions with universities, policy makers and the wider sector about how students are supported before and after they arrive in the UK.

Be a part of the conversation

The survey closes at 9 am on Wednesday 20 May.
