Tina Renshaw has been appointed as Chief Executive of UKICSA. She will start the role on 1 July 2026 and will attend our Annual Conference in Glasgow in June.
Tina brings 30 years of experience in education and training from across the UK and Australia, with leadership experience as a charity CEO and senior public servant across awarding bodies, state government departments, technical and further education, local education authorities and the not-for-profit sector. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford and an alumna of Henley and Macquarie Business Schools.
Most recently, Tina spent nearly 10 years as CEO of English Speaking Board (International) Ltd., a specialist awarding organisation for oracy and English language qualifications, recognised as Awarding Organisation of the Year in 2023. Under her leadership, ESB established a unique and authentic reputation by centring service users and maintaining a clear commitment to purpose, working in international English language markets and particularly closely with migrant and asylum seeker communities in the UK. Tina led the organisation’s contribution to a coalition advocating for oracy to gain recognition within the National Curriculum for England.
Tina shared:
“I am truly excited to be joining UKCISA as Chief Executive. Education, social mobility, and international experiences have been central to my life, so I have the greatest admiration for those who wish to pursue education and skills qualifications in the UK. I am thrilled to lead a member-led and student-informed organisation that stands alongside international students and those who work with them.
I would also like to recognise the contribution of UKCISA’s former Chief Executive, Anne Marie Graham, and thank Heather for her leadership as Interim Chief Executive during this transition period. I look forward to attending the UKCISA conference in June to meet UKCISA’s members and experience the amazing UKCISA team delivering a great event.”
Chair of UKCISA’s Board, Koen Lamberts noted:
“Following a competitive recruitment process, the Board is delighted to welcome Tina to UKCISA. Her experience as a charity sector leader and extensive knowledge of the education sector will ensure that UKCISA continues to champion its members and international students, and remains a dynamic, values-led organisation equipped for the future. We look forward to working with her and the UKCISA staff team to advocate for a system where all international students have a positive experience.”
Interim Chief Executive Heather Knight commented:
“It has been a privilege to support UKCISA as Interim Chief Executive during this transition period. I am delighted to welcome Tina and look forward to working with her as she gets to know our members, students, partners and staff team.”
