Finalists announced and tickets now available for the inaugural #WeAreInternational Awards

September 24, 2025

Today, we announce the finalists of the 2025 #WeAreInternational Awards. Selected from over 420 nominations from 120 institutions, the shortlisted institutions, teams, staff, and students all demonstrate exceptional commitment to delivering a positive experience for international students.

Their work strengthens a more inclusive international education sector, ensuring the UK remains a global leader in attracting international talent.

We are recognising 63 finalists spanning 13 categories, including the Alastair Niven Student Voice Champion, Outstanding Student Support, Student Leader of the Year, and Institution of the Year.

Join us in celebrating the achievements of international students and everyone who supports them across the UK when the winners are announced on Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

UKCISA Chief Executive Anne Marie Graham shared:

We've received many fantastic nominations with inspiring stories from institutions, teams, staff, and students. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experiences. We're looking forward to coming together in November to recognise the impact that UKCISA members and international students are having in fostering a positive experience for students.

Chair of UKCISA’s Student Advisory Group Pedram Bani-Asadi commented:

International students contribute so much to the life of the UK - academically, culturally, and economically. It’s heartening to see UKCISA recognise not only the achievements of students themselves but also the tireless efforts of staff and institutions who support them. The #WeAreInternational Awards shine a spotlight on this collective commitment and remind us how powerful international education can be when students and members work together to create inclusive, welcoming communities.

While we are recognising finalists across 13 categories, we did not receive any eligible nominations for the Sustainable Internationalisation Award this year. As a result, there are no finalists in this category. UKCISA remains committed to raising awareness and advocating for the importance of sustainability in international education, and we look forward to highlighting and supporting members and international students in this vital area of work in future awards.

We would like to thank our event sponsor Duolingo English Test.
