'So what makes an international student different?'

David Gee, founder of GradLink UK, has recently published a blog on why UK international students are a valuable asset for employers and how international students once graduated from a UK university can ‘get the edge back home’. The blog mentions a good grasp of the English language and the so-called ‘transversal skills’, attributes gained by students in international education, as decisive elements in many employers’ hiring decisions.

A variety of mentioned sources and studies mentioned in the blog support the conclusion that international graduates from a UK institution should highlight their recently acquired attributes. Good interpersonal skills, an empathetic approach to culture and diversity, exposure to leading UK industry, experts and business, etc., Gee argues, are among the qualities that make a UK graduate stand out from the crowd.
