We have updated the Tier 4 information on our website to include details of the changes to the Immigration Rules that were announced on 13 July 2015. Some of these changes will affect you if you make a Tier 4 application on or after 3 August 2015
, and others affect students who apply for a Tier 4 visa on or after 12 November
In particular, the time limits on study in the UK will change from 3 August 2015 and then again from 12 November 2015. Read our information about the ‘caps’
if you have previously studied in the UK and will be applying for a new visa on or after 3 August 2015.
There will also be significant changes to the financial requirements for Tier 4 applications made on or after 12 November 2015. If you apply for your visa before this date you will not be affected by the increase in the monthly requirements or the abolition of ‘established presence’. But if you are applying on or after 12 November you should read our information about finances
and make sure that you prepare in advance since you must have held the correct level of funds for at least 28 days when you make your Tier 4 application.
There’s an important change about where you can study if you’re applying for a Tier 4 (Child) visa on or after 3 August 2015
and an equally important change for Tier 4 (General) students who want to apply for a new Tier 4 visa in the UK on or after 12 November 2015
