Professor Paul Webley, Director of SOAS and Chair of UKCISA’s Board of Trustees, has been awarded a CBE in the 2015 New Year's Honours for services to higher education. Paul has been Chair of UKCISA since 2011 and in 2014 was re-appointed for a second three year term of office.
Dominic Scott, UKCISA’s Chief Executive, said:
‘Among many other responsibilities and concerns, Professor Webley has given extraordinary support to international students and all those who work with them. He has led our Board during a period of intense and often controversial debate about the UK government’s current policies on international students but has powerfully helped to present the case for their intellectual, cultural and financial value to the UK. We are absolutely delighted to see this work and many other achievements recognised in this way.'
