This course will focus on presenting what immigration routes are available for students who want to work in the UK beyond their studies. You will also gain an understanding of the work rights of international students during their studies.
By the end of the session you will be familiar with a student’s post-study work options, including:
- The main work routes of Skilled Worker, Global Talent, Start-Up and Innovator
- Temporary Worker routes of Youth Mobility and the Government Authorised Exchange
- Other options, including British National Overseas visa, EU Settlement Scheme and family routes.
This session will include presentations, case studies and the opportunity for you to ask questions. This session may be of interest to anyone advising international students of their immigration and careers options after graduating, as well as those involved in recruiting students for work. We will be covering aspects of the Immigration Rules in detail so delegates should have a basic knowledge of the Rules and be comfortable navigating these.
Please note that this session will not be covering the Graduate route. If you would like to understand more about the Graduate route, please see UKCISA’s separate event on ‘Graduate route: post-study work is back’.
This session will be delivered by Pat Saini and Hazar El-Chamaa of Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP on behalf of UKCISA.
