In view of the problems a number of short-term students have experienced in being mistakenly ushered to use the eGates on arrival in the UK, the Home Office have produced a visual aid document to assist.
Short-term students from the non EEA countries who are now permitted to use eGates should be advised to print out this visual aid document prior to travel to the UK. Short-term students should also be advised to present this document to any airport member of staff who mistakenly try and advise short-term students to use the eGates. This document clearly indicates such students should see a Border Force Officer and not use an eGate.
The visual aid document can be downloaded here.
