The public testing stage of the EU settlement scheme opens today, and full guidance and information are now available.
The UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, has announced in Parliament this afternoon that people who apply under the scheme from 30 March 2019 will not be charged a fee - all applications will be free of charge.
If you have already been granted status under one of the private testing phases, or plan to apply before 30 March 2019, any fee you have paid or will pay will be reimbursed. Details will on how this will happen will be published later - we do not yet know if you will be automatically repaid or whether you will have to apply for a refund.
The Home Office has published information about the private beta test in force from November to December 2018 and how it aims to improve the process for those applying from today.
