UUKi will be launching a three-year national campaign, named Go International: Stand Out on 2 November. It aims to support the sector to double the percentage of full time undergraduate UK students who study, work or volunteer abroad as part of their UK degree by 2020.
This campaign will highlight the issue with policy-makers, build networks of mobility champions from academics to alumni, produce marketing toolkits for universities, engage with employers, and conduct research and media outreach.
There is a two-step process for universities wishing to join the Go International: Stand Out campaign:
- Encourage your VC/PVCi to sign up to the campaign charter, which contains four guiding principles for increasing the numbers of students who go abroad;
- Pledge an action that will help boost and broaden your outward student mobility, and represent, as far as possible, new or enhanced activity.
To access the charter and pledge form, and see some example pledges, please visit www.go.international.ac.uk/standout and download a copy of the Join the Campaign booklet.
UUK would like as many universities as possible on board by the official launch; the more charter signatures and pledges received, the stronger the voice.
