This course will give experienced advisers, who are directly involved with helping international students make immigration applications, the opportunity to consider how best to deal with difficult situations and to discuss how best to avoid refusals of applications of leave. Participants will be expected to discuss their relevant experience during the course, where appropriate.
Course objectives:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- know how and when to refer to an appropriate external organisation
- know what could lead to an application being refused under the general grounds of refusal
- recognise, and help students to avoid, other situations which could jeopardise immigration permission to be in the UK
This course is suitable for:
experienced immigration advisers. Therefore advisers
must:
- have attended our ‘Basic Tier 4’ or ‘Principles of Tier 4’ course and followed by either 'Advising on Tier 4 applications' or 'Making a Tier 4 application'; and
- have at least 2 years’ worth of experience of advising on, and helping students to make, immigration applications within the framework of the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner’s (OISC) requirements
