2019 Social programme

The campus at Keele is home to over 600 acres of landscaped parkland, fields, woodland and lakes. Take a breather, by going for a self-guided arboretum walk or a run around the campus in the early mornings, or any free time you have during conference.

Wednesday 3 July

UKCISA's annual conference always features a range of optional social events to allow for networking and building friendships within the sector.

Newcomers welcome and introduction to conference (with lunch), 12.30-1.30pm

Welcome to delegates attending conference for the first time! Come and find out about UKCISA and how to get the most out of conference. Meet other delegates also attending for the first time.  Lunch will be provided.

Opening reception, 6.30-7pm

Delegates will have the chance to relax, enjoy a drink and network at the end of the first day of conference.

Evening social activities options, 8pm onwards

Keele University Heritage Tour, 8-9pm

Karen Manley and Chris Hargreaves from Keele University will lead the tour. This includes access to Grade II listed Keele Hall and the surrounding lakes and gardens. This fact-filled tour of the Keele University campus offers informal insights into the origins of the estate, the founding of the University and the larger than life characters that have contributed to its rich heritage. Please note that the tour route will include steps and some stretches of gravel pathway.

Limited places available for this bespoke UKCISA tour!

Music bingo, 8.15-10.15pm

Think you know bingo? Think again! Instead of numbers being called, listen out for tunes which you mark off on a card. Singing and dancing is also encouraged! This is a fun way to test your musical knowledge and get to know delegates at the same time.  The bar will remain open until 11pm.

Cocktail making masterclass, 8.15-9.15pm / 9.15-10.15pm

Take a cocktail making masterclass where you will learn how to shake, stir and drink your very own cocktail. (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options are available).  There is a charge of £10 per person to cover the cost of ingredients for your drink.  There will be one or two sessions for one hour depending on numbers.

Lounging and Games in SU bar, 8.15-11pm

If bingo or cocktails isn’t for you, you can relax in the SU bar, have a game of pool, throw some darts and get to know your fellow delegates.
