Students working during their studies

This half-day course will examine Government policy and practice relating to permission to work for international students during their studies. We will also consider the situation of EEA and Swiss students, particularly those from countries which have joined the EU more recently. Permission to work for student family members is also covered.

Course objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • advise international students on permission to work and its limits whilst they study
  • advise students on possible consequences of working outside restricted permission
  • advise on freedom to work for students’ spouses and dependants
  • advise on the situation for EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members

This course is suitable for:
This half day course is suitable for anyone who advises international students on employment whilst studying, including international student advisers, careers advisers and human resources (HR) staff.

Fees:
£105 members, £60 students’ unions, £210 non-members
