New advisers: an introduction

Advising international students can be rewarding and also, at times, very challenging. This is even the case for experienced advisers who are new to the role of advising international students. This is a highly participative course. It is aimed at international student advisers.

To introduce new advisers to the tools and expertise needed to do the job effectively

Course objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • define their role and its boundaries
  • identify procedures required to provide an effective advice service
  • identify useful resources and sources of support

This course is suitable for:
those who have recently taken on the role of advising international students. Pleace note: This course does NOT cover specific advice areas such as immigration or fee status
