Intermediate immigration for those working with international students

An opportunity for those who are experienced in advising international students on immigration issues to explore some more problematic aspects of student applications. The event will run on a workshop basis, and it is therefore essential participants have a good working knowledge of the immigration system as it affects international students. This is a highly participative workshop.

Workshop aim

To enable those working with international students to advise on non-standard student applications and identify approaches to "problem" applications.

Workshop objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • identify factors affecting immigration applications
  • provide a framework for advising on immigration applications
  • examine in detail some parts of Home Office policy and practice relating to students

  • The 2008-09 UKCISA Training Programme will be available by the end of August

Workshop details

This workshop is suitable for:
those who are reasonably experienced in advising international students on immigration issues and/or those who have already attended a basic level immigration course.

Fees:
£145 members, £95 students’ unions, not available to non-members
