Immigration Rules for the spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner, same sex partner not in a civil partnership (partners)and children of Points Based System migrants. This includes the family members of Tier 4 (General) Students.

For the requirements partners must meet, see paragraphs 319AA to 319D and 319K.

For the requirements children must meet, see paragraphs 319F to 319I and 319K.

For babies born in the UK who do not meet the requirements of paragraphs 319F to 319I and 319K, see Immigration Rules paragraphs 304 to 309.

UK Border Agency guidance

Dependant policy guidance provides some information about what your family members need to do to make an immigration application under the Immigration Rules for Tier 4 dependants.

Immigration Directorate Instructions Chapter 8 Section 4a: Children born in the United Kingdom who are not British citizens provides information about how UK Border Agency caseworkers should process applications made under paragraphs 304 to 309 of the Immigration Rules.
