Supporting the Supporters
Facilitated by Dr Margaret Collins, Professional Coach, Trainer
and Master Practitioner of NLP.
We live in times of change. Our role is to support others as they
live through times of change. During this workshop we will explore
the different aspects of our role, identifying the skills and qualities
needed to be effective in delivering our service and highlighting
areas where we may need to develop and grow, responding to change
and new challenges. We will also look at the support mechanisms
and systems that are available to us or which we can create.
Throughout this day we will examine a range of approaches for supporting
students and the supporters on whom they depend. This will include
exploring how our beliefs help or hinder us in achieving our goals,
tools to explore relationships and to build more effective communication.
As a result of this workshop we will:
-
Explore the different roles and skills encompassed by an “international
student adviser”
- Clarify areas where we excel or have opportunities to develop
- Define boundaries for our work and exchange models of good practice
There will be ample space to share experiences and to learn from
each other.
