The UKCISA Tier 4 student survey 2011

This report updates UKCISA's 2009-10 reports on the student experience of the immigration system, showing that while there have been some improvements, such as with speed of processing applications, there remain many issues around information and transparency, cost and practicalities of the application process. Rule changes have caused confusion and have made the UK appear less welcoming, especially in relation to abolition of the Post Study Work scheme.

Tier 4: students' experiences surveys

1. Extending their visas in the UK (March 2010)

This report finds that students extending visas in the UK are highly critical of the service currently provided by the UK Border Agency, finding the application process unnecessarily slow, complex and expensive. It recommends the process is made simpler, clearer and quicker to ensure that students' experiences do not impact negatively on their perception of the UK's welcome for international students.
