About UKCISA:
Elections to the Board of Trustees
Invitation to Constituents of UKCISA to nominate candidates for the Board of Trustees
We invite nominations for election to UKCISA's Board of Trustees, (deadline: Thursday 31 May 2012).
The Board of Trustees includes six places for co-opted members and nine places for elected members, three places normally coming up for election each year. This year's places are currently held by Tim Benford, Euan Fergusson and Paul Rossi, all of whom are eligible to stand for a second term although other nominations are also welcomed.
One of the positions, currently held by Tim Benford, is reserved for a Students Union to ensure at least one representative from that category is included. The other two positions are open to constituents from any category.
Candidates must be either an individual constituent or an employee of a constituent institution.
Please read the rules governing the election of Elected Trustees in which paragraph 6 confirms that nominations must be supported by either individual constituents or Primary Contacts of Institutional Constituents.
View the full list of those eligible to nominate.
Notices of nomination must be sent to Dominic Scott, to be received by midday on Thursday 31 May. Faxes and emails are acceptable. Any single document, however sent, should include the agreement to stand, the nomination and the seconder. The nomination form may be useful as a guide to the information needed, but does not necessarily have to be used to nominate a candidate.
Nominations should be accompanied by a short personal statement from the candidate in support of their candidature of not more than 150 words. This will be distributed with the ballot papers if there should be a contested election.

Constituents and members
In 2010, UKCISA adopted new Memorandum & Articles of Association to reflect changes in company law. As a result of these changes, the use of the term "Members" is now restricted to Trustees, who are the members of UKCISA's Board. It has been replaced by the term "Constituents" to describe individuals or organisations who subscribe to UKCISA's services. Constituents retain the same rights in respect of the election of Trustees as they held under the previous Election Rules, which described them as "Members".
